Shortlisted for Classic Design Awards

In March 2006 Yoyo Ceramics was invited to the Victoria & Albert Museum for the annual announcement of the Homes & Gardens Classic Design Awards.

16 overall finalists – Yoyo Ceramics being one of them for ‘Is that Plastic?’ – just 4 awards were presented, along with enough Champagne to sink a boat!

The party and exhibtion of all the finalists work was in the Raphael Gallery, around 400 guests came along for the the evening. Mariella Frostrupp hosted the evening – one award going to Jasper Conran for his collaboration with Wedgewood for ‘Chinoiserie’ tableware collection, another to Barber and Osgerby for ‘Zero-In’ table.

Other finalists at the award ceremony included furniture designer Yosuke Watanabe for his fantastic ‘Standard’ lamp for Habitat, ‘Noah Daybed’, Studio Levien for ‘Eclipse’ and ‘Blow Me’ by Jay Townsend for Bakebean.
