Exhibition in the South of France Jun - Oct 08

Yoyo Ceramics was approached earlier this year by Frederic Bodet, curator assistant at the Decorative Arts Museum in Paris, to include ‘Is that Plastic?’ as part of a group exhibition in the Limoges Porcelain factory grounds. The theme of the show is to represent what’s new in ceramics and design in this century, amongst the traditional and renowned ceramics of this town. The exhibition entitled ‘Le petits bouleversements au centre de la table’ is at the Bernardaud Foundation from 24th June – 15th October 2008.

Summer Open Studios - behind the scenes

This ‘different to usual’ weekend visitors to Cockpit Studios can see all makers work for sale and get to see how things are made – from ceramics (don’t forget to come and visit Yoyo! Studio E16) jewellery, textiles, print, to name but a few disciplines that happen at this central London Studio location.

Entrance is free and there is activities to amuse your little people whilst you browse and shop.

Object – an exhibtion of designer crafts for Christmas!

A Christmas selling exhibition which will end the year with the seasonal opportunity to view and buy from the best contemporary craft practitioners from around the country.

Yoyo Ceramics will be on show and for sale in the shop at The Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Riverside Mill, Bovey Tracey in Devon. From Friday 17th November when the Private View takes place through to 3rd January 2007.

In celebration of Origin, the Crafts Council and the Evening Standard is delighted to announce two prizes to coincide with the two weeks of thew show.

Yoyo will be exhibiting and selling in Week One at the exciting Contemporary Craft Fair Origin at Somerset House , The Strand, right in the heart of London.

This new show from the Crafts Council, formerly known as Chelsea Crafts Fair, will host over 300 leading designer-makers from around the world in the spectacular Somerset House courtyard. Over two weeks you can meet the makers whilst shopping for special gifts or commissioning an original piece of contemporary craft.

Choose from the range of fashion accessories and interior objects in glass, ceramics, jewellery, meatl, furniture, paper, basketry, wood and textiles.

Hidden Art celebrates 100 designer-makers over a decade at 100% Design with the one100ten stand, 21-24 September 2006.

In taking 20 designer-makers to 100% Design 2006 at stand E46, Hidden Art will bring their total number of designer-makers represented to 100. Hidden Art were present at the first 100% Design in 1995, and last year won the Blueprint/100% Design Award for the Best Contribution.

To celebrate these achievements, Hidden Art presents the one100ten stand, featuring 10 designer-makers from Hidden Art’s 100% Design past, alongside 10 new designer-makers.

This weekend saw the first feaure of new products ‘Apples & Pears’ in the glossy weekend magazine from The Guardian.

Item No.4 (see below) in the Space page ‘Wish List’ by Hannah Booth reads:-

4. It’s the chirpy shapes and bright colours that set these charming dishes apart. Use them to tidy away buttons and paperclips or to store car keys. Collectables of tommorrow…look! – It’s Yoyo Ceramics on wheels!

If you like these cool retro looking cars – the Nissan Figaro (scroll below) – we think that you’ll love our Butter Dish and Egg Box in classic Mint Green / Cream lid combination.

If you can’t afford to buy this great vehicle quite yet and park it outside your home, get yourself a reminder for your kitchen table instead!

The Nissan ‘Pike Series’ as it was known, was produced surprisingly in the late 80’s for the Japanese car market. To find out more and link to an informative retro freak site, click here
